In her seminal work on creativity, The Artist Way, Julia Cameron provides a roadmap for overcoming our creative blocks. The base of it is simple yet surprisingly effective for what it unearths: Three pages per day of stream of consciousness writing will have a profound effect on our creative lives.

Join me and fellow 4-Week Film School alumni for a powerful tool in overcoming the obstacles we face as “lone-artists”. We will follow her 12-week program as a supportive group of filmmakers. The group meets once a week and is limited to 6 participants so we each have time to share. Cameron is part of the journey with her insightful chapter each week. There is also a particularly effective side-excursion called the “artist date”. We will have each other to share our creative goals, to hold accountable and certainly to inspire.

I first completed the Artist Way in the year 2000. And I’ve returned to it and writing morning pages every few years. It has helped me “get out of my own way”. It is my pleasure to introduce and lead you on this path of discovery.
