Wright [noun]: a skilled craftsman who builds from the ground-up.
e.g. shipwright, millwright or playwright
Cinewright [noun]: a filmmaker engaged in every aspect of film production.

A film degree is a large commitment of time and money. Meanwhile, every year manufactures are releasing simpler and cheaper cameras and editing systems. Employers rarely ask for a diploma, however they won’t pay you to learn on the job. A workshop provides the opportunity not only for hands-on training but to gain insight into the creative aspects that are the most important for a good film.

The film below was created during my 2024 Four Week Doc School in Maine. I was able to get an unprecedented week’s access to go inside Maine’s Maximum Security Prison. Though a student film, the result is professionally crafted look at a transformation taking place in Maine that could possibly influence the US system of incarceration.
